Moving films is a fresh new film and video production company founded on January 01, 2010 in the Netherlands as the emergence of a twin ambition of Dutch brothers Spees. Merging together their individual expertise and companies. Maurice Spees has been working as a film and video maker since 1994, starting as a full time editor, eventually founding his own production company Visualantis in 1998. Roger Spees has been a music Composer since 1994. He founded his own inspirational (personal) concert and musictherapy company Piano Tales in 2001.
Visualantis became a platform of young visual artist in the Netherlands which Maurice took to Thailand to become a video production service company in 2004.
In January 2010, Visualantis merged with Moving Films, becoming their Video and Dance Performance Art hub. Visualantis helps moving films produce and create powerful Video Art & Theater pieces that enhance the spirit of films.
Throughout the past decade Visualantis collaborated with European and Asian Contemporary Dance and Japanese Butoh Dance groups from SE-Asia, merging film and theater together in a fascinating whole. Creating Contemporary Dance pieces for Educational and Holistic Theater.
Next to that, Visualantis has contributed their expertise and talents to the success of a huge variety of independent and broadcast media productions around the globe for international television and independent programs.
Maurice Spees has dedicated his approach and expertise as a full-time editor and freelancer to the International broadcast and independent media industry for more then 12 years. He has worked as a Director/ Cameraman/DP and Editor for a huge variety of international documentaries, short films, news feed, Television series and music videos.
Piano Tales is a concept in which stories become inspired music in a very extensive way. Roger Spees plays Music not only based on real stories/tales but inspired by many things and especially people. The personal Piano Tale is popular in the Netherlands. In a Piano Tale session you get a personal inspired comprovisation piano concert, just for you. You can enjoy in the moment, and afterworths on your own cd. It is an unique concept which is becoming more popular every day.
Roger Spees is an often asked pianist and composer at events and concerthalls and known for his relaxing musical compositions. His experience in translating emotions and other inspirations into music has developed and still develops today. His way to realy sense what music is needed for a certain situation is a welcome extra in composing for film. He translates what he sees into music and enriches the film.
In 2009 they finally decided to combine their communication and artistic diciplines together to contribute their talents to the well-being of humanity. Out of this complementary combination Moving Films was born in 2010.
